One thousand Igbo businessmen across Nigeria have vowed to end poverty in Igboland by supporting the Igbo Youth and Women Empowernment Foundation, which will be flagged off at the first Igbo International Easter Retreat holding at Uburu in Ebonyi State today. The businessmen, under the aegis of Igbo Businessmen Forum, lauded the initiative of the Igbo Youth Empowernment Foundation and called on Igbo political office holders to support the initiative too. Also, Igbo legislators and local government chairmen have lauded the initiative and promised to identify with it. According to Pastor Edomobi Promise, Spokesperson of the group, there will also be the flagging off of the Igbo Hall of Fame, which will be erected at the home town of the former Premier of the old Eastern Region, Dr Michael Okpara. Meanwhile, no fewer than 5,000 Igbo and Igbo leaders are likely to storm Uburu, the home of Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, Minister of Science and Technology, for the event. Scores of Igbo businessmen in the diaspora have already arrived the country for the event www.vanguardngr.com/2017/04/bizmen-vow-end-poverty-igboland/
