“Islamic Movement Cannot Be Stopped Using Force” -Sheikh Zakzaky

He explained that it is an issue of knowledge and intellect and not terror and force. He said, “As you act against us, we will forever remain on the winning side while you remain the losers.” He said, “When you kill us we become martyrs while you only live to die soon after. This will only strengthen our ranks even more than when you leave us alive. What we are calling for has come to stay and can never be stopped.”

The leader of the Movement also said that the Movement is aware of plans the authorities to send imposters into the Movement to pose as members and agents with a mission of destroying the Movement. He also said that the plan also include females who will be dressing in Hijabs like the Muslim Sister to execute their vicious plans. “We are aware of their plans and their training activities”, he added.

Sheikh Zakzaky (H) called specifically on the Nigerian Muslim scholars who sell their dignity for token fees and allow themselves to be used in false campaigns against the Movement to beware of the danger of what they are doing. He reminded them that all Muslims have Israel and America as a common enemy and that they have produced many books, from Israel in particular, and spread all over the Muslim countries to promote sectarian conflicts among Shi'ites and Sunnis in particular. Such books are full of lies and calumny he added. The revered leader warned that everyone is going to be questioned on his declarations and utterances and so it is dangerous for one to read those destructive books and accuse other Muslims of what is not true of them.

Against this background, the leader of the Islamic Movement also called on the scholars to embrace research in knowledge and intellectualism and shun emotionalism and sentimentalism. He called on them to seek proof and intellectual evidence in place of emotional display of ignorance. They should always confirm the sources of references and ideal reasoning for everything they hear that they are ignorant of as everything is based on knowledge and not personal aggrandizements. “Your vastness in the aspect of knowledge that you know does not mean that another aspect you are ignorant of does not exist, it is a matter of knowledge and not heritage.”

Speaking on the Ghdeer Day, the revered leader of the Movement started by thanking the God Almighty for witnessing yet another Ghadeer Day, the day that he said should be celebrated with joy and happiness, giving out cards and gifts to friends and relations. He said that it is the day on which the holy Prophet of Islam proclaimed his cousin and in-law as his successor. He said that the holy Prophet of Islam SAWA was sent with a message not to only deliver but to also practically interpret, which he did.

He added that every Prophet had mentioned his successor and that this has been the tradition. Being the seal of the Prophets of God Almighty, the holy Prophet SAWA mentioned Ali (AS) as his successor not as a Prophet but as the leader of the faithful to whom allegiance is paid. He added that personal and tribal sentiments of some of those around the Prophet SAWA at that time generated and mobilized dissatisfaction that developed into an opposition. This led to the violation of the Godly and Prophetic instructions of Ali (AS)'s succession of the holy Prophet SAWA. The revered leader of the Movement mentioned that the event of Ghadeer has been mentioned the various schools of thoughts and is not disputable based on the facts available.

The leader also said that history has mentioned that the event took place during the final pilgrimage performed by the holy Prophet SAWA on the 18th of Zhul Hijja at a place called Ghadeer Khum near Mecca and was attended by about 100,000 pilgrims present at the Hajj that year. Both males and females swore allegiance to Ali (AS) as their leader after the holy Prophet SAWA when the Prophet declared that to whosoever he is a Prophet then “This Ali here is his leader. God Almighty befriend whosoever befriends him and oppose those whosoever opposes him.”

Dear Nigerians, this guy is correct. The Jihadists are prepared for violence and death. The more you engage them gun to gun, the more they are inspired to continue the violence. Violence only begets violence.

My advice is this, let us have a National Conference now to discuss the future of Nigeria, and where in it is not possible to be in one country, then let the Jihadists have their own repbulic (whatever Islamic Republic).

Else, we can also fold our alms and wait for this unquenchable lust for human blood to reach every nook and cranny of this fruad of a Nation called Nigeria.

It is true. You don't fight ideologies with force.

To deplete or eradicate radicalism in the said religion, you have to delete or to be fair, re-interprete some pages of a certain book.
