Take it or leave it, whistle blowing is the new Bae. Whistle blowers are more of super heroes than villain.

They are determined, courageous and have some strong moral and ethical inclinations, not everything is monetary considering the risk.

A whistleblower is a indiviudal who exposes or reports any kind of information or activity that is deemed illegal, unethical, or not correct within an organization that is either private or public.

But as cool as whistle blowing goes there are attendant risks.

1. Lack of whistle blowing laws
In Nigeria today, there is no specific whistle blowing law in place to shield and protect whistle blowers from some high and mighty individuals. The current Nigerian policy(by the Federal Government) on whistle blowing is just mere policy, it has no backing of the law.
Until, the policy is backed by law it is still subject to the whims and caprices of some individuals. It is not law if it has no binding quality.
The ambit of whistle blowing is not defined or limited by law, this is dangerous and can expose other people's private details and protected informations under the law.

2). A good turn deserves another
Most if not all whistle blowing are from within, from within the organization, business or company.
These to a certain extent define the scope if such a whistle blower is to be found or searched for.
Repraisal, Victimization, Loss of job are the attendant risks involved in whistle blowing, although you get your 5 percent, but you still have to weigh if its worth it...

This OP sef, what is the risk of posting the third point here? I do not think the whistle-blowers are unaware of these risks. Sometimes, the potential reward outweighs the risks involved. The potential reward is also not always money even if that's the government's incentive. So, just as some are willing to die or live saying the truth, some are also ready to keep lying or die trying to conceal secrets.
