First of all,congratulations on your admisshave. It's really a thing to celebrate. Among over 23,000 applicants, you are among the selected few to gain admission into the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University.
Although gaining an entry may have seemed like the hardest task ever but...hmm...its actually a pile of block laid in the foundation of a proposed Mansion. Not to scare you or anything but OAU is a very tasky,its the bitter truth. I decided to write this just to make sure you stay clear of some mistakes most freshers fall victim of and you have a food start.
First things first,attend the orientation program organized by the school. Its very helpful and it kinda helps you to settle in and embrace the school in its entirety. Be active too.

Embrace all promos that come your way. Banks and all and who knows you may be a winner or one of the super awesome gadgets that will be up for grab.
OAU has a very awesome environment and its really cool to take strolls during the day with friends so you could get used to the areas around school which is why i don't advice you take bike or buses everywhere you would want to go. i know you will be boxed up and all but take time to walk about and if you don't know the way,do well to ask students. Most of which will be happy to help although some may try the popular attitude of pulling your legs a little(Aaro) enjoy it while it lasts and don't let it get to you cos at a period in time it Will fade.
Don't overwork yourself the first two weeks of resumptions. Make sure you enjoy the time. Many of your mates will be seen reading profusely without even classes starting sef.
Although note that upon all this relaxation,do not lose the focus of why you are in schools. Not all shows are compulsory and not all fresher's orientation programs by various bodies are necessary. Make as many good friends as you can and join a good fellowship they truly preaches God's words.
Attend your departmental tutorials,they are very useful.
Once lectures start,read like your life depends on it( cos it does on the long run) and pray like its the only chance you have

If nothing disturbs the proposed calendar,2017 jambites are to resume late Jan./early Feb. 2018.

How about a waec result of_'Eng - B3,Math-C6,Chem-C5,phy-C6,Bio-C4,Igbo-B3,Crs-B3,Bk-keeping-C6 and civic-C4', coupled with a jamb score of 300. Would it be a blessed assurance?

Let me break it down for you bro;

Using Last Year's criteria;

B3- 6

C6- 3

C5- 4

C6- 3

C4 - 4

B3 - 6

B3 - 6

C6 - 3

C4 - 5

Total = 40/64 * 100% = 62.5%

Divided by 2 = 31.25%

Now if your UTME is 300; that's

300/400 * 100% = 75%

Divide by 75/2 = 37.5

Added together;

37.5 + 31.25 = 68.75%

Now pharmacy last year was 70.4%; with some lower marks for catchment...

So.....

So.....

One more question bro.....
Does OAU discriminate in giving admission. I mean if you beat the cutoff are there still chances that you won't be admitted.
BTW I'm from Anambra State

No.

Once you're above the cutoff, you get admitted.
It's only when below or second choice that something else enters
