The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) has threatened to embark on mass protest over $43m

It said President Buhari’s war against is questionable by shielding the real owner of the money

It also dismissed the claims that the money belongs to National Intelligence Agency (NIA)

The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) has said that it would embark on mass protest that would shut down the country if President Muhammadu Buhari fails to name the owner of $43m recovered from an Ikoyi apartment in Lagos state.

NAIJ.com gathered that the group alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari’s government was shielding the real owner of the sums of $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23, 218,000 recovered from an Ikoyi apartment in Lagos state.

CNPP also warned that it would organise mass protest if the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) fail to prove to Nigerians that its activity was not lopsided by naming and prosecuting owner of the stash.

The umbrella organisation of all political parties in the country further dismissed the claims that the money belongs to National Intelligence Agency (NIA).

This is contained in a statement on Saturday signed by CNPP Secretary General, Chief Willy Ezugwu.

It reads: “We’re worried that the current anti-graft war is becoming a show as each day passes”.

“It is more worrisome when you begin to hear that a government security agency, the NIA, which is not a revenue generating organ of the federal government, is laying claim to the recovered.

“The NIA angle to the controversy is nothing but a deliberate plot by the federal government to cover up the true identity of the looter.

“How can the NIA claim to own N13 billion cash stashed in a private residential apartment; NIA has no office in Lagos?”

“The war against corruption is now being exposed for what it truly is on daily basis, a lopsided fight against perceived enemies of the present administration, while all members of the ruling party are shielded from prosecution.

“The case of the Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF) is still fresh in our minds; how President Muhammadu Buhari quickly absolved him of any wrong doing even before any investigation was carried.

“The Minister of Transport has been at the centre of several financial scandals which were never investigated.

“But any plot to cover up the owner of the Ikoyi apartment loot will be strongly resisted, with the CNPP leading the struggle. Enough is enough”, the CNPP stated.

I just find it funny how people believed the EFCC would have carried out a staged operation without properly planning on who they'd claim owns the cash.
But if they did then that's pretty stupid.

Yes

Tell them cnpp.

Cnpp and other parties should come together and form a good opposition and shield anyone from apc or pdp from joining the party.

We need good opposition in nigeria but definitely not pdp.

dis govt thought dat d charade of displaying alleged recoverd huge cash on pictures n videos to gullible nijeriyans will show dat they ar fighting kworoption. but they ar wrong. d more they display images of huge cash on media for propaganda purposes, d more they increase d corruption perception index on nijeriya. "corruption perception index" is a tool used to determine d degree of corruption in a con3. a model international agencies use to rank corrupt con3s in d world. d higher d perception index, d higher d rank of d con3's corruption.
by d end of dis regime, nijeriya will be rank number one most undesputed corrupt con3 in d world, no thanks to dis directionless govt's kworoption propaganda machinery.
lets see how many foreign investors will come to nijeriya with dis perception by d international community.

It's quite unfortunate what Buhari and APC turned the country into less than 2 years into power.

Nepotism, Divisiveness, Biased corruption fight, Recession, Insecurity across the country e.t.c

Despite all these glaring incompetency some mofos still believe all is well and that Buboo is messiah. A man that that lacks capacity to govern but applies deception and fraud in collusion with his cronies to fight / annihilates opposition under the guise of fighting corruption.

Zombiesm is truly a disease that must be cured lest they infect reasonable Nigerians.

With this statements by the CNPP, are they suspecting PMB to have hands in the issue of the money orphan?
who could it be that they are using different tactics just to cover?
Many Injustice has been done but why is CNPP so intrested in this case? I think there is more to it than ordinary..........Nigerians should be careful as they delibrate on this issue of political hanky panky!
