COPS in the US are hunting a crazed gunman who shot dead an elderly grandad and boasted about slaughtering 14 others in a horrific Facebook Live broadcast.

Steve Stephens, 37, is on the loose after filming himself executing Robert Godwin Sr, 74, on Easter Sunday in Cleveland, Ohio, because he was “mad” with his ex-girlfriend.

COPS are hunting a crazed gunman who shot dead an elderly grandad and boasted about slaughtering 14 others in a horrific Facebook Live broadcast.

Steve Stephens, 37, is on the loose after filming himself executing Robert Godwin Sr, 74, on Easter Sunday in Cleveland, Ohio, because he was “mad” with his ex-girlfriend.

He said more would die unless his mum phoned in and left chilling Facebook rants blaming debt and the break up of his relationship as a trigger for murder.

Cleveland Police confirmed the shooting broadcast on Facebook was real, but said they were not aware of any other killings.

The city was on lockdown last night, as police searched for “armed and dangerous” Stephens – who calls himself Stevie Steve on social media.

Stephens is also filmed on the phone to a friend claiming to have killed 13 people

He also wrote on Facebook he wouldn’t stop killing until his mum and Joy Lane – reported to be his ex-partner – in the video call him, alongside his number.

His mum Maggie Green told CNN she spoke to her son on Sunday and Stephens told her he was “mad with his girlfriend”.

She said: “That’s why he is shooting people and he won’t stop until his mother or girlfriend tell him to stop.”

Stephens and his girlfriend had recently split, according to reports.

Ms Lane has since revealed she is “safe” and “praying” for Mr Godwin’s family.

She wrote on Facebook: “I am safe and with the police. I am Not okay… this is a lot.
