hmmm... it don reach that level? Or are the senators scared?
Re: Magu: Senate Considers Going To Supreme Court by seguno2: 2:51pm On Apr 18, 2017
They should do so without further delay. We need to strengthen our democracy with the three different but complementary arms- executive, legislative and judiciary- exercising their independent roles for check and balance on each other.

Africa does not need STRONG men.
It needs strong INSTITUTIONS.

It should have nothing about being scared.
It is about increasing the law and order capacity of our country.
I hope that you have no problem with this.

My believe is that Magu is working. He should be allowed to do his job

Senate under Saraki has lost its credibility since.. Nigerians are now stoning them, making attempts on their lives while Magu is being celebrated

Let me remind you that U.k and other Western countries support Magu. The fight is beyond supreme court or anybody

I believe that the skeletons in their cupboards are crying already for fear of Magu.

Nigerian Senators are cowards and anti people

The dog in my house is laughing at the criminals we call senators. Imagine amending the constitution just to ensure magu was not confirmed. When we ve serious pressing issues that requires constitution amendment to effect ie reduction of their pay

This presidency is the most useless in the world

Senate should not bother going to Supreme Court

Any individual with corruption case against EFCC should simply raise the issue of the illegal chairman and whether the EFCC under Magu has authority to serve.

By the time cases start collapsing for this reason, no be person go tell the presidency to replace the incompetent Magu
This can't stop your case from being pursued by EFCC and once the judgement is delivered on your own case, it automatically applies to all other cases. Think again, this this time, think hard.

This is another avenue to siphon money on the pretense that they are paying for legal services.

The Nigerian constitutions provides that the President can appoint any head of Departmentl without recourse to the National Assembly. The act setting up the EFCC provides that the National Assembly must approve the person appointed by the President

We all know that what is in the constitution supersede what is in any other law. Their lawyers will not tell them, but will go to court, waste the time of the court and collect humongous legal fees after loosing the case that they know from the beginning that they will loose.

We Nigerians should wake up from our slumbers.

Good proactive move.

Otherwise, if they allow FG take them to court, they will take them to federal high court so as to buy time before the case will eventually get to Supreme Court.

President Buhari that I know will not compromise his decision for magu to head EFCC..

no need for the senate to approach the supreme court, they have done their work which is to confirm or reject him.
The onus is on the presidency to challenge the decision of the senate in court and not the senate to challenge her own decision.
The EFCC was created by an act of the NASS with specifics as to qualification for chair etc. we must not allow politicians to destroy EFCC because of blind support and hatred for the present government.

Falana and Osibanjo are wrong and are trying to undermine the NASS which created EFCC and gave her life.

What qualification do you have sir to say this?

The question should be that if d power of confirmation by the Senate is being questioned, why isn't their power to create the EFCC in the first place? Why choose some and leave others?

So as Lord Lugard gave Nigeria its name, his descendants have a claim to whatever happens in the country?

Thats why we have laws..if its not stated clearly, there is no room for assumption.

The senators have already said they will either go to supreme court, or ammend it as they are the ones who make the law. Sadly they only make the ones that favor themselves and not the masses. Case in point Yerima and 13 years age of consent law.

The act creating EFCC is clear Sir. if they dont like it, then they should have it amended to give the president the powers to hire and fire at will.
Do you remember the drama over CBN, NNPC, NCS, Service Chiefs during GEJ's time?

No way. The supreme court has original jurisdiction in matters between the NASS and the Presidency by virtue of the Supreme Court (Additional Original Jurisdiction) Act
