It was a night full of controversy as Real Madrid host Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League Quarter final return leg at the Estadio santiago Bernabeu. The first leg ended with a 2-1 Madrid win at the Allianz Arena a fortnight ago, a game that saw Cristiano Ronaldo become the first player to reach 100 goals in UEFA Champions League after scoring twice to give Madrid a comfortable lead going into the second leg.

Hungarian referee Victor Kassai had a terrible night in the office with his numerous mistakes during the game when he sent Arturo Vidal off for a challenge on Asensio in the 84th minute when Bayern were leading 1-2, one which replays shows Vidal actually went for the ball before the tackle which Asensio made a meal of.

However, Vidal was on a yellow for his incessant ferocious tackles in the game.
