The weekly meeting of the Federal Executive council is not holding this Wednesday.

No reason has been given for the cancellation of the meeting billed to commence 11am Wednesday at the council chambers of the presidential villa in Abuja.

The council chambers is at the moment deserted as no federal executive council member has been spotted around the area where the FEC meeting is usually held.

Vice president Yemi Osinbajo presided over federal executive council meeting last week Wednesday following the Absence of President Buhari who was said to be attending to other official engagements.

Minister of Information and culture Lai Mohammed said there was nothing unusual for the Vice president to take charge of FEC meetings even when the president is around.

By practice, the ministers receive council memos two or three days ahead of meetings because they must read them and sometimes undertake research. It is not a rubber stamp council so everyone must prepare themselves well for debates.
