Reliable Chinese sport newspaper-Shanghai daily reported that Chelsea have reached a verbal agreement with a Chinese club, believed to be Tianjin Quanjian for the summer transfer of Brazilian-born Spanish striker-Diego Costa.

The reports further revealed that the transfer fee which is yet to be announced officially will break existing World transfer fee and is believed to be around the region of £120million.

In January, Costa received a staggering wage offer of £620,000-a-week from the Tianjin Quanjian outfit, but the deal was stalled by Chelsea’s refusal to let-go of the former Atletico Madrid striker.

This season, the Chelsea striker has rediscovered his form after netting 17 goals for the West London club in the Premier League with his team leading on the league with 4 points advantage ahead of their closest rival-Tottenham Hotspur.

Diego Costa moved to Chelsea in 2014 for £32million and helped the club secure their fifth Premier League title with his prolific form. Unfortunately, he only managed to find the back of the net on 12 occasions last campaign after the team experienced a ditch in form.

Despite Costa’s interest to leave the London club come summer, he could still enjoy a memorable end to what is poised to be his last moments in the blue shirt as Chelsea are well-positioned to secure the Premier League title this season as well as the English FA Cup.
