WHO Declares "Record-breaking" Progress Against Tropical Diseases by Kayville: 11:14am On Apr 20, 2017
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has achieved “record-breaking” progress in controlling neglected tropical diseases, which blind, maim, disfigure and debilitate millions of people worldwide, especially in poorest countries.

The Director-General of WHO, Dr Margaret Chan, in a new report on Integrating Neglected Tropical Diseases into Global Health and Development, said an estimated one billion people were reached with treatment for at least one of these diseases in 2015 alone.
