Sad! Dagrin Forgotten 7 Years After Death by splendid22(m): 12:05pm On Apr 22, 2017
Olaitan Olanipekun a.k.a Dagrin died on the 22nd of April 2010. The legendary Nigerian indigenous rapper brought a breath of fresh air into the Nigerian music landscape via his witty lyrics, punchlines and hit songs.

The likes of Olamide, Reminisce, CDQ are all inspired by this extraordinary rapper. Dagrin died at about 6pm on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Lagos State Teaching Hospital, LUTH and was buried on Friday, April 30, 2010 at the Ebony Millennium Private Vault, Atan Cemetery.

The sad part of the tale is this, seven years after his death, Dagrin has been forgotten. Dayo Showemimo of LIB who paid a visit to late rapper’s tomstone at Atan Cementery Yaba, shares his experience. One of the mortuary attendants opens about the fact that the vivacious star has been forgotten.

“Baba this guy has been forgotten here .Nobody dey come check on am at all, even his family sef. Na one time him girlfriend for abroad dey but but she sef don stop. Then recently a rapper also came i think it was CDQ I’m not sure”.

We can remember vividly how radio and TV stations played his songs after his sad death, how his colleagues did songs, paying tributes to him. Seven years later nothing has been done to immortalize him.
