Senator Ahmed Makarfi, chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has advice President Muhammadu Buhari to step down and hand over power to Vice President Yemi Osibanjo, while he recovers fully from his undisclosed illness. Speaking in an interview in Abuja on Thursday, Makarfi said if buhari is not fit to run his office as the President, it’s better to tell the Nigerians and allow the Vice President to continue as Acting President and return to work after full recovery. Markafi made this statement in responds to an earlier comment by the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), that the President would be working from his official residence, after failing to attend the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting for three consecutive weeks.
