The offer of admission has been completed since Thursday 12th Oct. 2017..as gathered from an Admission Board Member.

After a long time meeting last week Thursday, and a rigorous look at the statistics of post-utme scores. The university admission board arrived at he following breakdown as criteria for admission to various colleges/departments.

*Vet. Med, Biochem, Computer.SC, Microbiology, Engineering and statistics will offer admission to candidates with not less than 50percent composite and 35 percent in post-utme.*

*Agric. depts shall offer admission to candidates with not less than 40 percent composite and not less than 25percent postutme score.*

*Please note that you having 50 percent composite for the first-class courses is not a guarantee for admission as it will be based on "composite power" for veterinary medicine, composites of 62 to 55 were only able to reach the population range which the college desired to admit. But be informed that every student choosing vet with composites above 50 but less than 55 were offered admission but not to veterinary medicine. And this may also apply in other departments.*

The interview with the Admission spokesman ended with a question on when the admission status would be ripe for online check. And with all sense of delight and accuracy in speech , he affirmed by saying...latest Friday this week (i.e 20th Oct. 2017).

Please and please, nobody can tell you your chance of being admitted, even if you scroe 80%. Your chances of being admitted depends on complex random factors that will spin your heads like a fidget spinner if I try to explain.

That friend will score 70. You will score 71. He will get admitted, you will not. You will score 69. That friend will score 70. You will get admitted, he will not.

You will score 57. Your first choice course will be given to you. That other boy will score 60, he will be pushed to Edo language or given "Peace and quarrel settling".

When you get into school, say Engineering. You will see several engineering aspirants pushed to quantity survey, environmental sciences, who scored higher than you. You will see some of them in physical science. Some outside maingate, attending boiling point tutorials & gorilla brains.... preparing for the next jamb.

Uniben admission process is very complex, confusing but above all, fair. Yes, there's favoritism of course, bit it's to an acceptable level. It's a standard practise worldwide. Even Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Princeton , all have a policy where sons and daughters of influencial people get in easily compared to others. However, like i said earlier, all these are kept to the barest minimum.

If you score 50 & above, I can confidently tell you that you have a chance of being admitted. Even if it might not be your course (for those who didn't score that high), it's likely you'll get admitted. Of course, not everybody who scored 50 & above will be admitted, but majority will.

49.999995 and below, pls just take another jamb. It's better to accept the reality at hand than allow your father's brother who's a lecturer, or the Vc's driver to give you high hopes only to break your heart later. Accept your fate now. And if by miracle, Uniben decides to shockingly admit below 50, the. You have nothing to lose.

Just relax and wait for the list to be out because there's no permutation and combination that can tell you your chance of being admitted. Forget any reliable source. That your uncle is a lecturer in school doesn't make him all-knowing. Levels pass levels. Lecturer pass lecturer. It will shock you to know that only few, I repeat, only few people, are allowed to know how the admission process works.

Forget reliable source. Most of them are hogwash. Just relax till the list comes out. Don't even bother your self. Keep your self busy with movies, novels or something.

And start gathering your documents. I cannot emphasize this enough. START GATHERING ALL YOUR DOCUMENTS. NOWWW! Especially those of una wey go write waec for one evil forest only accessible by water and the permission of the chief priest.

Lectures will begin before you,re even done celebrating your admission. Clearance will begin before some of you even hear the list is out (this is obviously a figure of speech).

Congratulations to everybody who scored 50 & above, hopefully we'll see you guys in Uniben and eat your Matric rice.
