As many as 2 million Android users might have downloaded apps that were infected with the FalseGuide malware, security research firm Check Point warned on Monday. Initially thought to be 600,000 users, the number of Android users who have mistakenly downloaded and installed malware on their devices straight from Google Play Store has reached 2 Million. The oldest of the infected apps could have been uploaded to Google Play as long ago as last November, having successfully remained hidden for five months, while the newest may have been uploaded as recently as the beginning of this month.
Once subscribed to this service, FalseGuide can allow the attackers to send messages containing links to additional malware and install them to the infected device, enabling attackers to display illegitimate pop-up ads out of context and generate revenue.

So, the fact that virus has been uploaded for Android users to download on their various phones now means that Android playstore has been hacked? Is the virus effective on playstore?. Is has only been used as a medium of spreading the virus. It has not been hacked, it has simply been compromised. And note, the apps affected have been removed. So playstore is no longer compromised. Put your info through to the audience properly.
No offense intended.

The playstore was designed to prevent any malware from being uploaded so for the app to have had stayed for 6month which was how long the app was on playstore is hacking because the security was bypassed any form of security breach is hacking.

It's a lie.

The playstore was recently upgraded to be able to detect malware.

It's been open since.

And no, the play store hasn't been hacked dammit angry
