I know constitutionally the VP is second in command but from what i have seen happening in naija now, it seems kyari is running naija now. And from some series that i watched like the fixer and 24, the chief of staff seems to have more power than the VP. I may be wrong here but what do you think people? Between the VP and chief of staff who has more influence/power?

Chief of staff is not an elected post. He can be removed at any time. Unlike the VP. Chief of staff has no constitutionally backing. Intact the president can scrap the entire post if he likes. But the President must have a VP, who is also constitutionally the head of NEC

Depends on who the president is.During the last administration sambo was nonexistence...during bubu era..osibanjo is visible....all in all both portfolios na scam..if you can't be president.. Be a senate president or Governor..those one get power.

The CoS is always at the mercies of the President who assigns authority to him, may decide to get rid of him at any time or whittle down his powers if he (President) so desires.

The VeePee, by constitution enjoys some privileges like immunity, head of statutory bodies and is immune from being ditched away at the instance of the President. He also enjoy the extra benefit of ascension should fate or any factor end the tenure of the President prematurely.

When it comes to influence, the COS has it more than the VeePee simply because of his closeness to the President. However, even a PA or non officeholder could be more influential IF he has the trust of the President... eg Mamman Daura and Oronto Douglas (During GEJ era) before his death.

Sometimes VP's/running mates are not even chosen by the president but a COS is always someone the president trusts and has unrestricted access to the president.
