BREAKING: Courts frees ex-PDP governor Aliyu on bail Premium Times is reporting that a High Court in Minna has granted bail to former Niger state governor Babangida Aliyu. According to the report, his former Chief of Staff Umar Nasko was also granted bail. The two men are being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged corrupt practices while in government. Babangida Aliyu was released on bail by a court in Minna The two were remanded in prison custody by the court on April 25 after they were docked by the EFCC. Nasko was also the Niger State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015. Just minutes before reports of their release emerged, former aviation minister and PDP chieftain Femi Fani-Kayode demanded their freedom as well as that of Sambo Dasuki.
