We have about 150 million Nigeria citizen. The news getting to me is that 1.7million youth wants to write jamb. Pls can anyone tell me if this country is going forward or backward?. Let say 700000 people get admitted this year into all tertiary institutions. So 1million people would go and write again next year. When would all this end?. What's so important about studying theater art in the university when you can enroll in a movie academy,dancing academy and even music academy,and still get the same quality education. What's the point studying education in the university when we have college of educations scattered all over the country,is it that they ain't compatible enough?. What is the need studying law for 5 years when u still have to pay nothing less than half a million so as to go to law school(only the rich can afford that).
What's the need studying engineering courses in d university when polytechnics can be of greater help if giving enough and reasonable time as d universities(4-5years,as the case may be).Why must we go to the University when most of what we want is out there in the society.
The prestige and honour given to Bsc is too much. Education is good,but I feel quality education is better and quality education shouldn't be narrowed down to jst having a Bsc. It's about been good at what you do. Nigeria richest elite have no trace of what they studied in the university. How many educated people earn as much as footballers?
Most of world renowned rich men ain't known for their Bsc but for what they can offer to the society. To the Nigerian government, Bsc shouldn't be a yardstick to success. Give the youth a chance to explore.
