There have been different theories postulated as regards the creation of the universe and several schools of thought in that regard:
The Evolutionist Theory: The evolutionist theory is the the collection of thoughts to explain how the universe came to being. The Big Bang Theory is the prominent of the theories postulated by evolutionists: http://www.en.wikipedia.com/bigbangtheory.

The Creationists : This school of thought is comprised mainly of Christians who believe that the universe was created in six 24-hr days as written in the Bible.

The Periodic Theory : This school of thought is comprised of Bible-believing scientists who believe in the First Cause or the Infinite Touch theories, but do not believe in the 24-hr idea by the creationists. They believe that the days mentioned in Genesis were actually periods, and a period could be a 100 or 1000 years. They believe that the seventh day which is the rest period of God, is the that we are now.
According to scientists, this school of thought has been proved right Geologically, Archaeologically and Paleontologically, as more biological remains have been carbon-dated and discovered to have lived for thousands or millions of years.

I am a bit confused about this whole thing. Please I ask for good explanations to this question. Which is the truth? Honest and intellectual answers please. Thank you.
