Given the unfortunate event involving the Togolese national team-with their bus driver, assistant coach & team spokesperson killed,2 players injured,do you think it was right for CAF to allow the games to continue?? Personally,i think herein lies our problem as Africa & Africans, if this had happened somewhere else, most likely the tournament would have been cancelled, at the very least out of respect to the NATIONAL team that lost some of its own and the now suddenly bereaved families of those who died. But what do nairalanders think |

It should continue amidst tight security, let their entire army leave their barracks and become half of the crowd in all stadia, hotel, taining centre, plus body armour for all players. |

It should hold. Look terror in the face and say aaghhhh! 90% of people never knew there was a seperatist group in Angola and fact is they exist around the world so nowhere is really safe! |

I say they should even play the finals in that region of Angola, to show those rebels that Africa isnt afraid of them. If the tourney dosent hold, thats a win for terrorism and Angola would be added to the U.S black list. |

it is part of the political issues in africa. a president who has ruled a country for 31 yrs is bent on dying as the president. those we call rebel are not rebels in the real sense but is just that the seating pre sident is using govt wealth and influence but the massage has been passed by the aggrieved groups and the world has taken notice. it is really unfortunate that international stars will go to angola to die for problems they know nothing about. in the first place, caf must have asked angola abt their security situation and the answer wld have been"NOTHING DEY HAPPEN" the truth here is that angola failed because it shld have been their duty to protect all who came to their country while the tourney is on. the competition lost its falvour that day togo team was attacked but as typical africans, that will mean nothing to them. in reality, that situation will affact south africa with england even threatening to withdraw their team for sa2010 for security reasons. for God's sake, these footballers are great ambassadores of countries and as such security shld not be child's play. |
