Abuja Municipal is a local government area within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Nigeria that makes up the sixth local government area which are Kwali, Kuje, Gwagwalada, Bwari, and Abaji. The town is also called the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) which is located in the eastern part of the Federal Capital Territory, the town is closed to Suleja road at the North, it's also lead to Keffi – Nyanya road at the East and one can also drive through Gwagwalada Lokoja road at the West.

The town was founded on the 1st of October 1984, it one of the oldest towns in Federal Capital Territory, Abuja Municipal has twelve wards which are Wuse, Orozo, Nyanya, Karshi, Karu, Kabusa, Jiwa, Gwarinpa, Gwagwa, Gui, Garki, and City center. The wards are represented by a Councilor each and the headquarters of Abuja Municipal is at Garki.
