I think that this is still not the correct situation. Some people are of the opinion that Miriam Babangida actually passed on the first time that the rumor emerged. The family staged some drama to prepare the soft landing. It may not be too different in this case , only that there are many interests involved.

I have said it number without times that the man is dead, and they are just looking for ways to retain all ministers and FEC when Goodluck takes over and they bring in a VP from the North. The man was kept on life support against doctors advice, they will bring him into the country and buried him at the dead of the night according to 'Islamic religion'

Pifa:

I thought Sahara Reporters' web site reported this about a month ago and no one believed it.

If these people had any brains at all, Yar’Adua could have built and staffed a very good specialist hospital in Abuja and even add a presidential wing to it. When he collapsed last Nov, his journey to the emergency would have taken five minutes rather than the hours it took to fly him to Saudi Arabia. Who knows how much damage was done to his organs during the long “emergency” flight to Saudi land?

This is a lesson for anyone be it ordinary person, a King or a President, prepare for the raining day, If that YAR A'CLUELESS has built an hospital to treat his ailment he may stii be alive tody. Ask IBB how he help to kill Maryam because he didn't build cancer specialist hospital

sammyzacks:

Spiritually speaking, when they asked Nigerians to pray for the president, they were supposed to be sober and have faith in God to heal him. But instead, they kept lying and scheming evil against Nigeria and Nigerians. How do they expect God to answer such prayers? God can not be mocked, what a man sows he shall reap.

They asked Nigerians to pray when all that they needed is ' a sound advice on how to run the country in the absence of one man' those were the words of Sokoto ex-governor Bafawaru. The man Yar A'liar we are told is now working, eating and doing alright and he canot make a telephoen, radio or tv broadcast to thank the people who are praying for him, whose monies he is using in a foreign hospital INGRATE is the world for such person if he is still alive

henry4uall:

The worry here is the magnitude of corruption that would have taken place since the Guy left! Wait and See. While you are waiting, 'the kitchen cabinet' are milking the coffer. Na by today?

That is the sole consideration and reasons why both FEC, Ministers and PDP controlled NASS refused to do something about him or imeach that failure call President. Even the Military stay out of it .

edoyad:

Knowing my Nigeria, Yaradua could run this country from a mental facility geared in strap clothes and all grin
Aondaaka would say, "the president can rule from a mental asylum" grin

I am sure AGF Idonkia will have said this privately or even on record to some journalist or FEC since he himself is also a mad man, he give no damn about the 150million nigerians except his own position and pocket, but what do you expect an IBori 'appointee' ? I for one , I am not disappointed in the fool injustice minister. He is doing the bidding of his paymasters at the expenses of the country he should be protecting. He didn't know the diference between an office holder and the office. He didn't ecen know that the constitution has EFC rather than FEC. Lawyer my foot.

We demanded US to apologize for blacklisting us. Look at what is happening now, have we not embrassed ourselves before the whole world?

Officials are lying about his health status and having a conversation with him, signature is fraudulently signed.

Even our prospective VP lied about speaking to him. Can he be trusted? All is lies and grand deception.

Oh God of Abraham! Pls help us

Note: Dora Dora(our rebranding ambassador), can you hear me now? So what's next?

Nigerian President, His Excellency Umaru Yaradua is dead according to authoritative sources at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre.

He died on the 10th of December at 3.30pm at an Intensive Care Unit at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Jeddah Saudi-Arabia. Sources at the Hospital say that the First lady wants to keep the news secret for the next few days for personal reasons.

At the time of his death he was surrounded by his wife, Turai and a childhood friend, Nigerian Member of Parliament,

The president left Nigeria fifty days ago after complaining of Chest pains. Sources at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Jeddah say that the president suffered among many other things, kidney failure, stroke and massive brain damage.

The President has been bedridden ever since. Nigerian officials had previously lied to the country that the president's health was getting better while his situation got worse. The president was conspicuously silent regarding the Christmas day bombing in which a 23-year-old Nigerian, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried to detonate a bomb on an aircraft that carried nearly 300 people.

when the then president Abacha died, BBC carried the news instantly and was buried via muslim rite. If truely Yar'Adua is dead, in that same manner BBC suppose to let the whole nation know about this, and according to muslim rite he would have been brought home for burial. Or do muslim change their burial rite?
I read from this extract through this same link sent to me.

so what's goodluck's role in this whole drama

"Last week the group floated a lie that the ailing President called three top government leaders including the Vice President. Inside sources say the President has not made any phone calls since his evacuation from Abuja. What happened was that someone placed a call from the President's phone to the three leaders but the caller did not have any conversations with the listeners.

A reliable source confided in THEWILL that the Vice President accepted that he got a call from the President just to protect the Presidency. Recall that Prof. Dora Akunyili, Nigeria's information Minister announced that the Vice President informed ministers at the Federal Executive Council meeting that the President called but said the VP did not give the details of their conversation. The fact is that there was no conversation in the first place hence he could not give them details.

The group has been putting pressure on some governors especially Kwara State governor and chairman of the Governor's Forum, Bukola Saraki, who is also nursing a presidential ambition to sell the dummy to his colleague that he had a word too with the President. Also recall it was Bukola who lied to Nigerians at the wake of the President's hospitalization in Jeddah that they met with him at the hospital, a tale which we have confirmed to be false.

The talk that the president is also recovering is another lie that the group has been feeding Nigerians through politicians especially the Nigerian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Alhaji Abdullah Aminchi. The ambassador has been singing the President's recovery like a broken record even before he was admitted at the hospital."

Well this seems to be the latest report. But Naija politicians are still continuing their cover up.

Senior members of Nigeria's political elite will hold emergency talks on Monday after President Umaru Yar'Adua was reported to have been left "seriously brain-damaged"Nigeria in crisis after president left 'seriously brain-damaged'

Nigeria in crisis after president left 'seriously brain-damaged'

President Umaru Yar'Adua has not been seen or heard from since he flew to Saudi Arabia for treatment for a heart complaint seven weeks ago. His long absence has pushed Africa's second-largest oil exporter to the brink of its most serious constitutional crisis since the end of 33 years of military rule in 1999.

Anger was growing in Africa's most populous nation, evenly split between Christians and Muslims, over an alleged government cover-up designed to hide the severity of the 58-year-old's condition.

The respected Nigerian newspaper Next claimed that Mr Yar'Adua was "seriously brain-damaged and unable to recognise anyone including his wife".

Government officials immediately denied the story, which quoted unnamed sources at a hospital in Jeddah.

But sources in Britain and Nigeria have told The Daily Telegraph suggested the president may have been in coma for two weeks and could even be "clinically dead".

"Whether the guy is recovering, stable, deteriorating, it's ridiculous and very dangerous for there to have been absolutely no concrete information one way or the other," said a Western diplomat in Abuja, the capital.

"Nigeria is a country which gorges on gossip, but this is perhaps the worst possible time to have made the error of allowing these rumours to run free."

The absence of the president has conincided with the country facing a series of domestic and international crises, including the attempt by 23-year-old Nigerian, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, to blow up an airliner over Detroit on Christmas Day.

That has pushed traditionally close relations with Washington to an all-time low, yet neither Mr Yar'Adua nor his vice-president, Goodluck Jonathan, have commented publicly on the situation.

Mr Yar'Adua, from Nigeria's Muslim-majority north, has a long history of kidney ailments, a fact which raised questions over the former chemistry teacher's ability to govern in the run-up to the disputed May 2007 elections.

Last month doctors in Saudi Arabia diagnosed him with acute pericarditis, an inflammation of the membrane around the heart that restricts its action. Officials and allies have repeatedly stated that he was responding well to treatment and would soon return to work.

But there has been no visual evidence to confirm this, prompting lawyers and opposition politicians to launch legal action demanding immediate proof that Mr Yar'Adua is still alive and able to carry out affairs of state.

Three court cases are due to open in Abuja on Thursday, two days after the National Assembly reconvenes to discuss the president's health.

On Monday, the country's powerful 36 state governors will meet ahead of what many see as a crucial week for Nigeria's stumbling future political stability.

Efforts to bring peace to the petro-rich Niger Delta are likely to ground to a halt, raising fears of a return to violence there which could cut output and affect world oil prices.

Mr Yar'Adua has not officially passed power to Mr Jonathan, as demanded by the constitution, which has paralysed almost all government business.

A supplementary budget was signed by the president last week, but immediately there were claims that the signature had been forged. Government officials strenuously deny this.

"We are now a democracy, and that gives rise to many power plays, to factionalisation of political parties, and that's what's provoked these selfishly speculative claims," said Charles Dokubo, a government adviser and director of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs.

"We believe the president will soon be back with us, fit and well and working hard."

Olusegun Adeniyi, spokesman for Mr Yar'Adua, said on Sunday: "Of course the president is alive, he's not even in an emergency situation.

"I am aware that the issue of his health has become a political weapon for some people, which is sad. But he is still at the King Fahd Hospital, and he is still being treated."

Mr Adeniyi declined to comment on calls for photographic or video evidence of the president's condition.

fellow nairalanders, i can see u guys don't know d difference between psychosis (colloqually termed 'madness') & brain damage.d president is not suffering from psychosis, rather, he is brain dead i.e,all body functions as regulated by the brain have been shut down.this occurs in a situation where there is a failure of function of more than one organ in the body as has been the case. he's been diagnosed with churg strauss syndrome some time ago which is an autoimmune condition that affects multiple organs in the body including the heart, lungs, kidney, & the liver, all of which are vital to survival.in a situation where more than one of these fails, the body's ability to handle waste products & harmful toxins is compromised.such harmful products are circulated in the blood stream, get to the brain, ultimately damaging vital tissues & so the auto regulatory function of the brain is destroyed & the patient is as good as dead.a brain dead patient can only survive on life support gadgets & even that only for a short while. if the organs being helped by the machine fail to recover during this period of 'rest', it will take a miracle to get such a one back to consciousness.i've tried to explain this in as simple terms as possible.the summary is that the president is not 'mad'-he is more of a corpse than a living soul.
