Well, I started watching African football in the mid to late 90's.  Mine are: 1. Okocha 2. Eto'o 3. Amokachi 4. Mboma 5. Kanu Yeah, you noticed huh? Nigeria and Cameroon rocked my childhood.  |

Its only a Nigerian that would include Okocha. I wonder what he did or achieved to be named as Africas top 5 I can name 20 Africans better than Okocha, even spitting El Hadji Diouf is better(2 time African footballer of the year) To me Roger Milla Weah Etoo Abedi Pele Drogba |

Kalusha Bwalya never achieved much, but he is one of the best footballers from Africa. Awards aren't all that matter. |

Kalusha was African footballer of the year in 1988. |

dayokanu: Okocha was cheated twice from being African footballer of the year, In 1998, everyone agreed Okocha was the best player; he was the best african at the wc and became the most expensive african when he moved to PSG. In 2004, Okocha was cheated again when it was given to Etoo. You may not like Okocha; you are entitled to your opinion. But some of us think he was the best there ever was in Africa. I will never forget Nig vs Egypt 1994 ANC. Okocha entered the game in the 63rd minute and his first pass was a 50 yd ball on to Yekini's chest, Yekini turned, juggled the ball and volleyed against the cross bar. Why can't we go back to those days?  |
