After months of waiting the Nokia 3310 is finally going on sale.
HMD Global, the company behind the relaunch, announced last week that the rebooted 3310 will arrive in stores on May 24 and will cost £49.99.
Carphone Warehouse and Vodafone will both be stocking the new phone which comes in four colours and now includes a much larger screen.
If you’re thinking of buying the 3310 there’s plenty to love about this new device but sadly there’s also
some features that could make you wish you’d saved your £50.
Here’s five reasons why you should and should not buy the Nokia 3310.

WHY YOU SHOULD BUY THE 3310

PRICE:
At just £49.99 the new Nokia 3310 is a deal hunter’s dream.
You could treat yourself to 10 of them and still have almost £200 change compared to buying one Galaxy S8.
Flagship phones continue to get more expensive and with some rumours suggesting the new iPhone 8 will cost over $1,000, the 3310 is an absolute bargain.

REAR CAMERA:

This is something the original Nokia 3310 didn’t include but the all-new phone can take pictures.
There’s actually a 2-megapixel snapper on the 3310 and it even includes a LED flash for when the lights are low.
There’s no word yet on how good the camera is on this device but we Express.co.uk hopes to bring you a full review soon.

BATTERY LIFE:
Anyone who has ever owned a smartphone will know the pain of running out battery but the Nokia 3310 fixes this modern day problem.
Nokia is boasting that its new feature phone can last for a whole month on a single charge.
Here’s the full operating times for the 3310.
• Standby time: up to 31.0 days
• Talk time: up to 22.1 hours
• MP3 playback up to 51.0 hours
• FM radio playback up to 39.0 hours

DURABILTY
The original 3310 was famed for coping with what life has to throw at it.
In fact, one user recently revealed his 3310 was still going strong after 17 years.
This new device is thought to be even tougher and should withstand being dropped on the floor - something most iPhone users can only dream of.

SNAKE IS BACK
The classic game of Snake makes a return to the 3310 with a totally refreshed version which makes full use if the larger colour screen.

WHY YOU SHOULD NOT BUY THE 3310

NO WHATSAPP
There is the ability to download some limited apps on the Nokia 3310 but there’s no sign of WhatsApp or Facebook coming anytime soon.
Both of these apps are the biggest in the world, with over billion users, and not including them on the 3310 could be one of Nokia’s biggest mistakes.

IT WON’T WORK EVERYWHERE
The new 3310 uses the older 2G network and many countries are switching this system off.
This means the phone won’t work in places such as USA, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
It’s unclear if and when the UK is considering turning off 2G but, if it does, the 3310 will become obsolete overnight.

NO SELFIE SNAPPER
Nokia might have included a rear camera on the 3310 but there’s no front-facing selfie snapper on this new device.
Love them or hate them, selfies are hugely popular and this could be another big reason why some will be put off purchasing this feature phone.

NO TOUCH SCREEN KEYBOARD
If you want to bash out a lengthy email to one of your contacts forget it.
The Nokia 3310 reverts to the old-fashioned way of inputting text with keys being pressed numerous times to get the letters you want.

NO SMART ASSISTANT
Apple has Siri, Amazon has Alexa, Samsung has Bixby and Google simply has Google.
These voice activated assistants will guide you through your day finding songs to listen to, directions to your next location and even booking a taxi.
Sadly there’s no voice activation on the 3310 so you’ll just have to find your own way home if you buy one.

I will buy one to support my smart phone by making call with it, and brousing with smart phone.
So no need of those smart stuff in it for me.

For me, the battery life defeats all the other reasons stated there. One single charge per month for a smart phone is a smart phone owner's dream.

I will buy it because of battery life and if the price is reasonable

For me the reasons stated for not buying the phone are more or less unnecessary. Nobody is expecting d phone to come with a 16 mp camera... I would not even want d phone to whatapp and would fancy having d bottons.

Nice article though
