By acting as "lord and master" over the people bowing before him, Kanu is displaying conduct unbecoming of a true Igbo man as Igbos were culturally and historically fiercely egalitarian and republican. In fact, he was behaving like a feudalist - conduct more in tune with the Fulani aristocracy, who were Britain's main collaborators during the colonial era. The Fulani aristocracy's alliance with the British is at the root of a lot of Nigeria's problems today. Yet, Kanu is mindlessly conducting himself in that manner.
