Twelve-year old son of late former Super Eagles coach Shuaibu Amodu who died in a hospital in Lagos was treated for malaria instead of cholera.
Disclosing the circumstances which led to the death of the youngest son of the late tactician who passed away last June in Edo State was his close associate Segun Oguns.
The former Eagles goalkeeper during an interview stated that Suleiman who was the last child of the Amodus returned home last Thursday from Abeokuta, Ogun State where he was schooling and suffered a brief illness.
He was taken to private hospital where a wrong treatment was administered on him. He died on Sunday and was buried the same day. Oguns said the family was devastated by the sudden demise of one of their favourite child barely a year the father died. He expressed his disappointment that no one from the football family has not shown any concern to the family who did not have enough to take the child to a good hospital even as all promises made by the Sports Minister Solomon Dalung after the death of coach Amodu has not been fulfilled.
Amodu a national coach qualified Nigeria for the 2002 and 2010 World Cups before he suffered a sudden death last year.
