A 70-year-old man, Mallam Hassan Ajala and four others have been arrested by the Kwara State Police command for allegedly being in possession of a human skull. Other suspects included Ibrahim Adamu, Afisat Raji , Umaru Kure and Samuel Kure.

Parading the suspects on Tuesday, the Police Public Relation Officer, ASP Ezekiel Daboh, said the suspects were arrested by men of the state police detectives at Igboona, in Oyun Local Government Area of the state last Sunday.

According to him, one of the suspects, Ibrahim Adamu, was said to have brought the skull to the old man with the alleged intention of doing money-making charms, adding that the skull was discovered at the shop of the old man where he sells local gin and other assorted drinks to the members of the public.

He added that, following a tip-off in the town, members of the police detectives, led by ASP Alaku Asiagu, went to the house of the old man where the old man was arrested with the human skull.

He further mentioned that upon interrogation by the police, the old man confessed and the information he supplied led to the arrest of three people—Ibrahim Adamu, Afisat Raji , Umaru Kure and Samuel Kure—saying that they would soon appear in court after the police authorities complete investigation into their alleged roles in the possession of human skull.

Daboh, therefore, appealed to the members of the public to continue to assist the police in releasing information that can check the activities of criminals in the state.

In an interview with newsmen, the principal suspect, Ibrahim Adamu, confessed that he got the skull from a dead body at a river in Gwagwalada area of Abuja.
