The German Bundesliga giant, FC Schalke 04 recently struck a deal with AllyouneedFresh, an online supermarket, to sponsor the arm patch of their new football jerseys.

However, the logo will be embedded with a chip which has a contactless payment function. This would allow supporters pay for food, drinks and match day services with their replica jerseys, at the home stadium, VELTINS-Arena. Instead of cash or cards, stadium stalls would scan the chip to receive payments. In addition, fans can also receive promo codes when they use the service.
