Human Resources Makes A Country Develop Faster And Not Natural Resources. by beberebe: 1:22am On May 21, 2017
In Nigeria....Our corrupt politicians have made us believe that the country or a country can never develop without natural resources( Oil)...
And this have given a part of the country a more reason to be lazy and always believe that the country can never do without them because of the oil deposit in their domain....

But when you look at some developed countries like USA, Germany, China, Korea, India , France, south Africa etc..you will notice that this countries have little or no natural resources but are greatly endowed with human resources.

Also looking at countries like Cameron, cote devour, south Sudan, guinea etc that are richly blessed with oil ...what can be said of their development....

Even countries like south Africa, USA, saudi Arabia , Quatar that have oil have overlooked the natural resources and are growing their economy through human resources....

Saudi arabia have oil but they make their money through tourism and pegrimage..
Quatar have oil but they are technologically endowed and they have a human resource grown economy....

If a desert can be turned to this present day DUBAI.....that means human resources is the key to a country development and not oil...

If every part of the country can be creative like Aba and having full support of the government.... I think we will grow our economy faster and be even more developed..

Human resources is the answer and not natural resources......

The article is corret.

The issue with Africa is Africans and the foreign do gooders bailing is out of our stupidity. The perpetual foreign aid whether it be medical, food, money etc. It's make the leaders dumb. They obviously do it for their benefit.

I beg to disagree, human resources does not make a country develope faster. What make a country develop faster is human development and not human resources.

Having the right human resources without adequate training ( human development) will amount to nothing. Nigeria is a classical example with a country with adequate human resources but there have not been any improvement.

What do you think is the problem? As you have likely said, lack of natural resources utilisation is among the problem but human resources don't seems to be the solution.

You may want to use China as an example with country who has large population and still performing well. Have you noticed why this is the case for China? The secret has been human development through technology.

If really Hunan resources is the solution look at the pace of India and Pakistan and compare them with Japan. Despite their human endowment they are still classify as third world countries compare to Japan who has low population but doing mysteries in today world of Technology.

Couldn't agree more, if you have all the natural resources (like Nigeria that has oil) with terrible human resources (ineffective leadership) the country cannot progress.

Human resources/capital is needed to harness the natural resources.

I was saddened when I watched the welcome Trump received from Saudi Arabia, that country just like us has only oil, but you can see the impact. Such a beautiful country, with a thriving standard of living.
