Lagos PDP is intact - Chairman


Contrary to insinuations sponsored by mischief makers that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State had completely subsumed into a newly registered political party, Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA), Otunba Segun Adewale, Chairman of the Party has insisted that the PDP is strong and ready for the July 22 LG elections. 


Adewale alleged Chief Bode George of complexity in this misinformation venture. "I have been reliably informed that Chief Bode George personally spoke with the BoT Chairman of our great party, senator Walid Jibrin  informing him that all our members in Lagos have completely defected into APDA. This is a complete falsehood. The new party is not PDP as Chief Bode George cannot speak for us in Lagos".  


According to him, a few leaders of the PDP loyal to the ruling APC by their conducts are finally moving to identify with their paymasters. "Those planning to leave the party are leaders that have never won any election in their units and wards in Lagos State. They have always acted as mole within our ranks, consistently selling out to the ruling party in Lagos. Campaign fund disbursed through them always ended in their private accounts at the detriment of the party's victory at the polls". 


The Chairman pleaded with members to be weary of leaders whose greed have kept the party perpetually in opposition in Lagos State. He explained that the crisis rocking the PDP at the national level is predicated on the presidential ambition of an APC chieftain who is bent on becoming the sole candidate of out Party come 2019 presidential election. "Seeking the canditure of a Party he is yet to officially become a member and some greedy leaders are busy working towards actualizing such anomaly".


"Our National Chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and other respected leaders however are interested in returning the party to the grassroots. Hence, they have resisted all attempts to covert the PDP into the personal estate of a non party member. When all attempts at taking the soul of PDP had failed, they have resulted to blackmail with a view to destroy the PDP on their way out" Adewale concluded.
