Disappointing seasons for Renato Sanches and Douglas Costa has given Manchester United encouragement that they could prise the young stars from Bayern Munich.

The Red Devils wanted 19-year-old Sanches when he was snapped up by Bayern last summer.

Costa has sparked interest from Liverpool as well and has spent more time than he’d like on the bench this campaign.

Should Man United reach the Champions League by beating Ajax in Sweden on Wednesday, they are well placed to get the duo given Joshua Kimmich and Kingsley Coman are preferred by Carlo Ancelotti
