Mrphysics that your number 5 is wrong.

Warm air rises until it gets to the point were the atmosphere is dense.
Remember, when warm and cool air meets, the warm air glides over the cool air which results to convergence, and then precipitation. Precipitation wouldn't have been possible without moving air airmasses.

Moreover, disparity in rainfall occurrence is caused by the differential heating of the earth surface. There might be a buildup of rainfall in place A, but because the atmosphere is always in motion, the resultant rainfall might end up occurring at place B.

This is why cloudseeding is not really successful, cause you might end up cloudseeding in Ikeja, but it ends up raining in Apapa.
