Anambra pupils top national common entrance examination

Two pupils from Anambra State have been named the highest scorers in the 2017 National Common Entrance Examination into Federal Unity schools.

Emeka-Egbuna Chinecherem and Joyce Onubogu both scored 189 out of 200 obtainable marks in the examination conducted by the National Examination Council.



According to a statement signed by the Acting Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Husseini Adamu, the least score was 4 and was recorded by eight candidates.

Some 80,421 candidates registered for the examination but only 77,512 candidates wrote the examination.

He said, “The Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu gave approval to the National Examination Council to release the result to the public for access in all the state Ministries of Education nationwide as well as NECO zonal offices.

“Queen’s College, Yaba, Lagos was one of the colleges with highest subscription of 5,524, while the least subscribed college was FGGC, Monguno, Borno State with only 21 candidates.

The result can be accessed on-line http://www.fmeinterview.com or through NECO zonal offices nationwide, to know whether a candidate is shortlisted for placement or not. Meanwhile, the placement exercise is scheduled to take place in July, 2017.’’

It is simple,Igbos have developed the culture of meritorious achievements. Govt knew that Anambra and other Igbo states has exceptional lads,reason why ministry of Education deemed it fit for Anambra state to have the highest cut-off for entrance into unity schools. while cut-off for Anambra state is 139,some states in the North has a cut off as low as 2.
As it is common with the igbos and there never dying spirit,the are now surpassing that high cut off with ease.
