Ahead of the 50th Biafra anniversary celebrations scheduled for next week, the Nigeria Police Force has declared that IPOB and MASSOB, two leading umbrella groups agitating for the Independent State Of Biafra, are illegal groups. The Force has therefore asked Nigerians to reject the group and their agenda. The Ebonyi State Police Command through its spokesman, Jude Madu articulated the position of the Police in an interview with NAN. Madu confirmed that some pro-Biafra agitators were arrested “for unlawfully sensitising” the public to stay at home on May 30, in observance of the group anniversary. Madu said those arrested in Ebonyi would be charged to court, adding that the command would ensure that they are duly prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to others...
