And Now A Quake by PIPROM(m): 6:53pm On Jan 16, 2010
In the century past
Slave ships from new world
Disgorged freed slaves,
The Island brimmed with dwellers.
Lords of Manor emerged
Whipping over wept peasants,
Slavery by another name ensued.
Papa Doc
New world Principality
In voodoo garments
Clamped manacles
Onto weary wrists
Of Island dwellers.
Baby Doc
In furtherance of evil heritage
Outdid Papa.
Even when reverend ruled,
Hunger haunted.
As Principalities pound dwellers
Haiti grappled with poverty,
And now a quake.
