Many have contributed toward the falling standard of our education system in Nigeria via essays, symposia, newspaper, articles, debates and radio talks among others all aimed at standardizing the status quo of our education system and bringing back our lost glory. If i may ask,is the standard of education really falling?

If so, in what sense? what is responsible?and then can we come to the question of “how do we rectify the situation the Nigerian education system has fallen today?.

Education is defined as the totality of a child’s upbringing which happens within and outside the school.it is a part of the complex process of socialization that transforms the infant into a social being capable of taking part in the life of the society , and continues as long as he must learn to adapt to new circumstances and play to new rules.

Hence we need to define what we mean if we are saying we need to improve the standard of our education system in Nigeria The faulty notion we often form is to compare past academic performance with what obtains nowadays. This should not be so unless we are blind to the changing order of times.when we say we need ways to improve the standard of our education system,we should address ourselves only to the moral and practical aspects but not mental of it inconclusively.

lexicon defines standard as qualities or for the desired degree of excellence. We should realize that education anytime involves mental act which is not static, hence it would be erroneous to utilize past standard of our educational system as a yardstick for evaluation of present standard of our educational system in Nigeria.

To me, it may not be a total misconception of the whole issue to conclude the the standard of our educational system in Nigeria has fallen because today a primary school leaver cannot respond favorably to a mental sum like 12 times 12 whereas his counterpart of those days could even easily and exactly answer 25 times 25 or that a secondary school student could not state either the clause or structural analysis of a sentence in a grammar lesson.

At this juncture, let us ask what’s the remedy?

The prominent factors responsible for this epidemic are: moral laxity, sexual indulgence, too much emphasis laid on bilk examination as sole means of assessment, poor facilities, defective planning and indiscipline which now permeates every fabric of our endeavors.

MORAL LAXITY

These days, hedonism is given a top priority by students. It is now a part of our academic requirements for students to throw expensive parties ,most especially the females and if i may ask, by which means do they get money?. Student’s now leave schools and campuses to smoke heavily and cool off with bottles of beer, going on pleasure trips an spending school fees on entertainment and dressing with school girls going on weekends of immorality with their boyfriends and sugar-daddies.
With respect to parents, and most especially working class parents, they do not have adequate time to cater for the moral upbringing of their wards anymore.
Today, mordernism emphasizes individualism rather than collectivism even the church and the mosque has been rendered impotent.

INDISCIPLINE

The gross indiscipline on our schools is a function of the chain of events taking place in our society.Today male teachers demand for sex from female students freely for marks and even the female ones from male students is gradually becoming common scene.
Inadequancy and lack of discipline among the teaching staff is having an adverse effect on the performance of students.
Indiscipline on the part of school administrators as well contribute to the falling standards of education system. Mischief’s like corruption, faulty planning, dereliction of duty and cover up are among administrative indiscipline currently bringing our educational system to a total collapse.Today, students don’t value the need to read to hard for exams anymore as they believe they now have shortcuts. Slang’s like miracle centres are mow commonly used for those intending to wrote the school leaving certificate exams.
Results are now available on cash and carry basis. Hard work has become total foolishness today. This is nothing but hypocrisy and indiscipline in its quintessence form.
SEXUAL WHIMS
It is a common thin in both the secondary and post secondary educational environment of today. This immoral behaviour is much more pronounced in post secondary schools.Today, female students and lectures now enter into symbiotic sex most especially during sessional cum final examination. The virtous and determined ones who refuse to comply with the sexual whims are mercilessly dealt with.

INADEQUANCY

The shortage of staffs, teaching aids, learning aids and instability of teachers hamper the smooth running of schools which in turn hinder the learning process and hence constitute a major setback to our educational system.

Absolute improper and immodest sitting environment and lack of basic needed reading and writing materials is another debilitating factor. Some parents also over indulge and overload their children with work at home at the expense of their studies.

To this end,the question is what can we do? we can all do a lot in this rescue mission.

it’s worth noting that teachers need to be more recognized and fairly treated. The reward of teachers is no longer in heaven.
The inspection of schools is far from being constant and adequate hence it requires urgent improvement.
There is need for us to spell out the mental act we want our children to acquire.we need to streamline our curriculum and administrative machinery to cope with the changing times.
It is high time tailor our educational curriculum toward been more practical and technological oriented.Enough of theory.
Lack of teaching aids in our schools should be adequately remedied.
We should discourage every form of indiscipline vigorously and begin to encourage hard work.
Sexual whims should be vehemently condemned and forbidden and punished under the law.
Easier said than done!! The task now is how to apply the recipes to solve the problem.

A host of the Ireland is invited for the acceptance of the joys for the life. The scope of the cheap dissertation writing service is aspired for the management of the scores. The assessment is held for the furious outlook for the marks. It instilled for the reforms for the paths. the joy is flicked for the role of the tents. the new scheme is ousted for the management of the improved stints.
