''Sweetheart, don't let that kid fall.'' Ken said to Vicky as soon as
he got downstairs and met her holding the standing child with one
hand.

''He won't fall,'' she said. ''your breakfast is already on the table.''

''Thanks.'' he said and walked towards the dinning table. He sat down
and began eating his breakfast of tea and fried egg with toasted bread
immediately. Too many things on his mind especially Nate's wedding and
the company's expansion, which's why he woke up late this morning, he
had woken up to think about it; if expansion is really the best thing
for the company right now and he came up with a 'Yes' as the answer
after careful thoughts.

He drank the last of his tea and stood up. Another new day, work calls.

''The money.'' Vicky told him.

''I will transfer it to you as soon as I get to the office, are you
okay with that?''

''Yeah, I am'' she replied.

''Ehm...who's going to take care of Chiagozie on Nate's wedding day.''

''You,'' she simple said with widened eyes.

''Me? That won't be possible, I..I...'' He stuttered. Why would Vicky
even think of such a thing? No way! He won't do it.

''Is he not our child?'' she asked with a hint of mockery.

''Our, you and me. Please I can't.''

She looked down at the baby sitting on the floor and playing with his
toys, ''Chiagozie, daddy will take proper care of you, okay?''

The child looked up at him and smiled as if he actually heard what
Vicky said, Ken scowled at him and turned to Vicky, ''It won't work
that way,''

''It will, trust me,'' she said with a smile.

''I will hire someone to take care of him that day,'' he began walking away.

''Biko, don't worry yourself to death, your mum has volunteered to
take care of him.'' she informed him, ''besides, his now a man, my
baby is no longer a kid.''

He halted at the door and turned to her with a smile, when he saw her
raise the child with a hand, he quickly ran to his rescue.

''Please, don't force him to grow up.'' he told Vicky.

''Chiagozie, go and met daddy,'' she said.

He gasped when the child took a step towards him before falling back,
luckily Vicky was quick to catch him and stop him from falling to the
floor.

''What did I tell you? My child is now a grown man.'' Vicky said with
a careless grin in his direction. ''Thomas, do you believe now?''

''Ofcourse, I believe you.''

''You can go now, you're late already.''

The thought of staying and spending more time with his child just to
show how proud he is crossed his mind but he decided against it,
instead he went over and gave the smiling kid a kiss on his forehead
and the kissed his wife and said goodbye.

Already late for work, he hurried to his car and got in. Too many
achievements for just him, it seems like it was just yesterday when he
used to go about flirting with every Jen, Jennifer and Jenny on campus
and now look howfar he's come; a proud father of a cute and brilliant
kid.

He turned on the engine and drove out when the gateman opened the gate.

K.C woke up and hissed, so all along he's been dreaming and it looked
so real. Nate's wedding in his dreamed looked so perfect with his
beautiful bride by his side, everyone had their partner's  beside them
except him and just when he made up his mind to grab any random that
crosses his path, a beautiful dark skinned lady, Dami precisely,
walked up to him and asked to keep him company, something he accepted
without a second thought.
Things were already getting intense between them and he annoyingly had
to wake up when he was about to kiss her.

''Rubbish!'' he muttered and angry threw his blanket to his side and
climbed down from the bed.

With just books to read and a visit to one of his proffessor, he
decided to do all that quickly and spend the rest of the day with Dami
and maybe talk about the journey to Abuja that they will embark on in
few days, since they both had one or two roles to perform at the
wedding.
