Disturbing news seems to be emanating from Calabar on a daily basis.... barely two days after the governor and the commissioner for youth was alleged to have order the teargassing of peaceful protesters and shooting of 5students we are now faced with another misnomer. For two hours yesterday evening gun battle between the navy and police ensued along IBB road through to the stadium axis... causing pandemonium and loss of life.... 4police and 3naval personnel were reportedly killed in the battle... unconfirmed report has it that the police station has been torched....the cause of the melee is still not known although people are attributing this to the recent attempt to change the state identity (logo and slogan) by the state government..... saying the red stands for blood hence the day to day blood letting in the state
