Manchester United are close to wrapping up a £45m deal for Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic, according to reports in Italy.

Jose Mourinho is ready to splash the cash this summer as he prepares his squad for a return to the Champions League.

Perisic has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for some time and now a deal is almost over the line.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United are ready to fork over £45m to sign the Croatia international and Inter will accept that offer.

Originally a proposal of £40m had been put forward, but after that was rejected United's renewed bid for the 28-year-old appears to have got the job done.

Perisic will now hold talks with Manchester United over personal terms - but both parties are said to be confident an agreement will be found swiftly.
