Hungary is one of the oldest countries in Europe with more than 1000 years of history. The country is located in beautiful central Europe with a population of over 11million people. Since 2004, Hungary has been a member state of the European Union and this has afforded students the opportunity to discover other parts of Europe while earning a higher education degree.

Cost of study and living in Hungary

Cost of living in Hungary is relatively affordable. You should estimate roughly 450 to 500 Euro per month and that should cover the cost of accommodation, food, textbooks, phone , internet subscription, accommodation etc.

Tuition

Students with best academic records usually benefit from the State-Funded program, where the government of Hungary pays the tuition of students selected. If you are an EU student or come from a country that has reciprocal agreement with Hungary, you may qualify for the “State-Funded” student.

Note that international students, non EU and students who don’t fall within the “State-Funded” category will be required to pay tuition fees usually ranging from 1000 to 3000 euro per academic year. In addition they may also pay registration fees ranging from 40 to 700 euro depending on the course.

Admission requirement for study in Hungary

Students applying to study at the undergraduate level are expected to have completed a secondary education or high school and are in possession of a valid school certificate qualifying them for a higher education studies in Hungary.

Students will also be required to prove their proficiency in the use of English or Hungarian language.

Master’s studies

Applicants for master’s study are required to be in possession of a relevant bachelor’s degree or it’s equivalent.

Study in Malta

Right in the centre of the Mediterranean lies the beautiful islands of Malta, altogether the islands are inhabited by over 400.000 people. As English is an official language of Malta along with Maltese this may be just the perfect place for a complete study abroad experience. The Maltese educational system is very similar to the British one, primary education of 6 years, and secondary education of 5 years. These two years are carried out in sixth form college/junior College or another post-secondary education before applying for a university.

Malta has a long-standing reputation for academic excellence and its degrees are widely recognized. Most of the Maltese faculties have received their doctorates from Oxford, Cambridge, Edinburgh and other prestigious universities worldwide. Areas of academic prospects and study in Malta include mediterranean, Arabic, Near Eastern and European streams of studies, and also streams like diplomacy, archaeology, history, and economics, marine and environmental studies.
