malton: Nairaland is really a blessing. After the post about military men who abused and maltreated a man, by telling him to swim in mud appeared on front page, the army in Warri placed conspicuous signpost with phone numbers to call if anybody was being harassed or maltreated by the army. Guess what, the soldier at the check points now behave better. |

So long there's crooked NIPOST staffs, there also exist nice ones. I cited Onitsha post office as an example; Fegge to be precise. Parcels are like plagues in their custody. They hardly keep it more than 24hrs without contacting the owner. They hardly request money except goods above 500g. During the height of my 50 days order waiting nightmare , I was compelled to threaten them with Vinitos saga, they laughed out that it must be tracked, that the problem is not always from them the final issuers rather from their men and customs at the port/boarder . I also learnt that any tampered parcels they receive must be endorsed IR, exempting them from embarrassment. Though this my personal experience with Onitsha PO, yours might differ 2 Likes |

Let me try my luck.. I am still expecting this package to arrive Owerri since July 2015. Numerous visits to their Owerri Office, followed by phone calls to the contact numbers posted on their site yielded nothing.

it's not about evading tax I have been doing online biz for a very long time I know the way they charge I just sense there believe is anything that comes from the state are not legit business..if you visit Nipost frequently you will understand what am saying..officials at post only charge you handling charges which is okay but those customs at Naco will cover charge which is very wrong inshort there duty is to check if you are not bringing in prohibited goods they don't have the right to charge you for personal effect.. quote author=delishpot post=57238836] I hope it is not a case of pot calling kettle black? I have been expecting a professional membership package from American Society for Industrial Security (the world regulatory body for security professionals) since July 2015. The organization insisted the package left USA for Lagos, Nigeria hence they can not issue another membership certificate. I have visited the post office on several occasions without any success. As at December 2016, they still insisted that the package was sent. |

Pidgin2: The word 'Staff' does not have a plural form of it If the collective noun (staff) is acting as a single unit, use the singular verb: “The staff is very efficient.” If the collective noun is meant to highlight the actions of indiscretion of a few individuals, use the plural verb: “The staff.” |

UjSizzle: Over the years, I have learnt to sarcastically make foolish people look even more foolish that they end up losing the argument or just simply walk away when they realise they are not getting to me I am not so jobless to be arguing with unknown/invisible persons everyday. I don't have that time |

I'm most happy because Vintino took time out to give us this feedback. We should learn from this that Social Media is a powerful weapon that can bring about change....all it takes is to raise a problem and ask for a solution...people would come out of the woodwork to clear the way..... respect to the guy that provided contact numbers.... the one that been writing letters on Op's behalf.... and others. Op finally getting part of his shipment is not the biggest win..... the biggest win is that Nipost Office is under a microscope.... and to fish out the particular bad eggs means other bad eggs were suspected or discovered. I'm sure in the near future that office would function as it should. We first need to complain first to the local manager.... and if no positive result... to the head office... every boss has a boss. Hopefully, Nipost will follow USPS policy when it comes to theft..... as in this case... the clerk would be arrested and handcuffed at the window when he is on duty serving the public.... then he would be paraded through the entire office for all workers to see he has been arrested.... then he would be taken away to be charged.....while we wonder why USPS is for yearssss the #1 most trusted entity. Nipost can be the same. 2 Likes |
