It Is no longer news that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has been AWOL for the past 54 days and his absence has raised so many concerns as well as put several questions on the minds of Nigerians but the real issues are:
Why should we be bothered about the President’s absence?
What difference will his presence in Nigeria make?
Even if he dies now (God forbid), what will he be remembered for as a one time leader of the country?

1. We're one of d largest crude oil exporters in d globe yet we can't refine it (even if it means ensuring all the oil majors in the country building refineries to refine the oil) and have to queue for hours to BUY it,

2. We FLARE natural gas (THAT COULD POWER THE ENTIRE NATION) on daily basis yet we have to generate our own electricity ourselves,

3. We're surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and have major rivers in Africa flowing through our dear country yet we live on "pure water" or drill bore-holes and wells in our homes for portable water,

4. We have the highest number of certified medical doctors in Africa yet our number one citizen is in Saudi Arabia on medical exile,

5. We pay our taxes yet we drive on death traps instead of roads and pay workers working for the non-functional railway system,

6. We hear billions allocated for our aviation sector yet we have neither a functional national carrier nor safe aerospace for its citizens,

7. Security of lives and property of citizens is almost absent with frequent communal and/or religious crisis in the NORTHERN part of the country yet we still commit billions of naira to the UNREPENTANT corrupt Nigeria POLICE.

Despite all these we are hunting for the sick man, what difference will the half-dead man make? We better start looking for better things to better our lives than think of what the hopeless government has to offer us.

Last time I checked the whole world kept an eye on Ariel Sharon (former Israeli Prime Minister) all through his time in hospital before he resigned.
George Bush slumped in the White house during his time in office and it was no hidden agenda.
The former Palestinian Leader, Yasser Arafat also died in Paris and the whole world knew about his situation and prayed for him.

The question now is why is Umaru's case different? Even if we want to pray for him, what are we going to tell God to do for him? Is it brain damage, kidney failure, heart attack, pericardiatis, mental problem, cough, catarrh, HIV/AIDS, liver cirrhosis, etc? Whatever it may be, it is not impossible for God to do. All he needs to do is to let the country know what the problem is then we know where to channel our prayer requests to afterall we have more than enough Christian and Islamic clerics in Nigeria. JUST COME OUT STRAIGHT. WHOEVER ADVISED HIM TO KEEP MUTE OR HIDE WHEREVER HE IS DIDN'T ADVICE HIM WELL.

Just in case he is not aware, the power he wants to take to heaven will be taken away from him even before his corpse gets into the mortuary.
