Voters Machines: Police can’t enter Adedibu’s house - INEC

THE Head, Legal Services Department of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mr Oluwole Osaze Uzzi, shocked a workshop audience yesterday in Abuja, when he said the police could not get access into the house of Chief Lamidi Adedibu in whose house INEC data capturing machines were allegedly found in Ibadan the Oyo State capital.


Presenting a paper entitled “The Electoral Act 2006 and the 2007 Election”, Mr Uzzi said not much had been done over the alleged machines found in Adedibu’s house because the police has said they could not gain access into the man’s residence.


The two-day workshop was organised by the INEC in conjunction with foreign donor agencies for editors and media executives.


It would be recalled that some data capturing machines being used by INEC for the on-going voters registration were allegedly found in the house of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, following which the police and INEC then vowed to prosecute Adedibu.
