The National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), Delta state football team and Intensity Football Club of Ibusa played out a 4-4 draw in what can be best described as a thriller.
The friendly match which was played at Federal College of Education (Technical) Asaba, had six goals in the first half alone.
The Corpers were arguably the better team at the start of the match, despite conceding an early own goal.
Three goals in quick succession put them in commanding lead, before Intensity FC responded with 2 quick goals to end the half 3-3.
The second half was a more cagey affair with both teams more cautious and defending more deeply. However, changes made in the Intensity side saw them take the lead 4-3. But they failed to hold on to it as the NYSC team ensured the match ended 4-4 draw.
Speaking with Universal Reporter after the game, the coach of Intensity FC Ibusa, Coach Harry Chime Iyke commended his players for fighting to win even if they could only get a draw.
"It was a fair play. My boys tried a lot. Because they played the whole state as a whole, it's not easy." He said.
Coach Chime called on his players to improve, he advised them to take note of their loopholes and improve on them. He encouraged them to train harder, and be punctual.
Corper Musa, the captain of the NYSC team, however declined to speak to Universal Reporter, stating the rules prohibiting corpers from speaking to the press.
