AAA would have been cool if not for Q1. Just don't know why the Institute refused to update the study text. Most people I know answered Q1 based on the content of the study text.

The ISA 700 in the pack is the old one. I've confirmed from a friend who got his packs in April that the revised ISA 700 is yet to be included in the pack. I'm guessing the person above is not aware of the revision. You won't find anything like Key Audit Matters in the AAA study text.

If you wrote what is in the study text you may still get some marks. Every single mark count

This revised ISA deals with the auditor’s responsibility to form an opinion on the financial statements as well as the form and content of the auditor’s report issued as a result of an audit of financial statements. This ISA applies to an audit of a complete set of general purpose financial statements. ISA 700 (Revised) is effective for audits of financial statements for periods ending on or after December 15, 2016.

According to ICAN syllabus, new regulations/standards can be tested six months after they become effective

This is the more reason students should endeavor to always read outside the study text. Journals and other periodicals relating to accounting are highly recommended.

Okay. This made me grin a bit. I like the diplomatic tone to it.

Excuse sir, can you confirm to me that when you wrote AAA, and found an audit report standard in the study text, you still perused others sources to confirm what was clearly explained in the text? I can say I read well beyond the content of the study text, yet I was unaware of the revision. I think the least the Institute could have done was to add a paragraph indicating the revision of the standard in the pack released for May exams. Infact, the very least!
