The Bayelsan Senator Ben Bruce made a very trending video message to the northern youth groups who issued an ultimatum for all Igbos residing in the north t pack their bags and go.

“The call by northern arewa youths calling for the South East Igbos to leave their land is so disgusting and shameful and must be condemned.
Not only has this affected the unity of Nigeria, it has also potrayed the ignorance of the people making such a call as they seem to forget how connected our lives have become. No region is an island; we all need each other and work well together.

Nigeria is greater than any single region.thanksfully; some living lights from the Northern region have condemned the threat and asked that the arewa youth leaders be arrested.

By now, Nigeria should have gone far beyond state of origin to state of residence.A Northerner who was born in Lagos state should not have to go to the state of his parents to contest election and rise to the top in business, politics and society.also a southerner born in Kano should be able to contest elections in Kano.

The whole of Nigeria must be open to all regardless of tribe, region, religion and political persuation.this was the case in pre independence Nigeria when a Fulani man named umaru altine emerged as the first mayor of enugu city in 1956.how can we in 2017 be moving backwards from the very noble act of 1956.

We must resist this retrogression and go on with one Nigeria.this is something that we as Nigeria must embrace to the shame of misguided persons who ignorantly and senselessly would want to divide us”
