*PRESS RELEASE* : *CHANGE OF NAME FROM YLAN TO NYF*

Good evening great patriots of our beloved country - Nigeria, indefatigable members of our noble association, gentlemen and ladies of the press and the general public, I wish to inform you that following a unanimous decision that was reached at a consultative deliberation by our apex decision making body - The National Executive Council (NEC) On behalf of the Board (BOT) and all members of our noble association formerly known and referred to as Young Leaders Association of Nigeria (YLAN), we now wish to be known, referred to and addressed temporarily until our new name is gotten as *NIGERIAN YOUTH FORUM (NYF)*

This has become necessary following a recent conflict in identity encountered in our incorporation process at the CAC which is currently being looked into by our team of legal advisers, It is worthy of note to state categorically that our programs, projects and contents are still on course and remain unchanged.

All our State Reps and Excos are hereby enjoined to remain focused, steadfast and resolute in the discharge of their responsibilities. Please note that, in the last two days, two public statements have been issued to the above effect from the *Office of the National President, by*Ezekiel Tope Oladimeji and The *Office of the National* *Secretary* by Jude Osaluwe respectively. And for the avoidance of doubt, we are not and do not have any alliance, partnership or relationship whatever with any person or persons currently going by the name *Young Leadership Association of Nigeria* (YLAN), we therefore dissociate ourselves and our association from such group.

May I take this opportunity to warn all members of the public that any person or group of persons dealing with the association currently being paraded as *Young Leadership Association of Nigeria (YLAN* ) does so at his or her own risk.

We therefore encourage everyone to check with our National Secretariat first on any issue relating to our programs for clarification if in doubt.

Thanks and God bless you. ....Together we shall restore Nigeria!

its good that you guys have website but your head office location is kinda suspicious, hope the project has no backing of any of these politician?

do you guys plan to float a political party or what?

its gonna be a long journey because even if you float a political party today, chances of getting nationwide acceptance before 2019 is very slim but with effort, many Nigerian will definitely embrace it between 2020 to 2022 of which will pave way for 2023 election.

Nigeria as of today is a total hell on earth but we need to act fast, do the needful to make it a better place to live.

Let the campaign cut across all social media, let there be house to house crusade so that people will be aware that Nigeria will soon be liberated.

The reason why we have to get to serious work this year.
Picture attached was taken during Obasanjo's era. Olusegun Obasanjo, President Buhari, Ibrahim Babagida, Atiku Abubakar etc.

The same set of people rule us since 1978, are we not tired of this or we've given up on the possibility of getting things straight in Nigeria ? It is time for all youths to unit together, raise up and take back our country. Let's shape it to work for us and bid them farewell, long & happy retirement in 2019. We can do this if we team up.

Pls contact your YVAN state Rep. Mobilization has started. 2018 is a serious business for us. YVAN advocates for good and youth participation in governance.

Mr Ajalekoko and Mr Jegede are both contesting for the post of Governor in Gongola state. Mr Ajalekoko and Mr jegede flag off their campaign.
Mr Ajalekoko is busy distributing money, sharing bags of rice and verbally attacking personality, without telling the people the agenda he has for them.

Mr Jegede, on the other hand doesn't have any money to lavished but he has a cogent agenda, which he believed when he eventually emerged, he is going to transform into reality.

Mr Owonikoko and Mr Jugunu are both civil servants of Gongola state. The following conversation ensued between them.

*Mr Jugunu* - Mr Owonikoko, who are you going to vote for in the forthcoming election?

*Mr Owonikoko* - Who do you expect me to vote for?

*Mr Jugunu* - it's Mr Jegede, of course.

*Mr Owonikoko* - Hell no, I can't vote for that stingy man...

*Mr Jugunu* - so you mean your vote is going to be for Mr Ajalekoko?

*Mr Owonikoko* - yes, of course.

*Mr Jugunu* - if I may ask, why do you want to vote for Mr Ajalekoko?

*Mr Owonikoko* - the man is not stingy. He gave me a bag of rice and some cash.

*Mr Jugunu* - but Mr Jegede has a very good plan he's going to offer the people.

*Mr Owonikoko* - to hell with his plan. Who plan help?

*Two years after the election;*

*Mr Owonikoko* - there is no basic infrastructure, there is high rate of unemployment and workers are owned backlog of salaries. I'm really fed up with this government. Life is becoming really hard.

*Mr Jugunu* - Mr Owonikoko, why are you complaining? I don't think you have any justification to complained?

*Mr Owonikoko* - (become furious), Mr Jugunu, why are you talking like this? Why won't I complained when life is hard and our government is not bothered about it.

*Mr Jugunu* - remember! You voted for the government.

*Mr Owonikoko* - (became more furious), Mr Jugunu, it seems you must be out of your senses. So if I voted for the government, does that mean I don't have the moral rights to complained?

*Mr Jugunu* - yes, Mr Owonikoko. You don't have the moral rights to complained because you did not just vote. You also voted because of the money and the bag of rice you received from Mr Ajalekoko two years ago.

Remember, I was telling you at that time that you should vote for someone who has a cogent agenda to offer, to someone who is busy sharing money and bags of rice. Not only that, he was verbally attacking personalities instead of addressing issues but instead, you turned a deaf ear and you are blinded by what you will gain at the moment instead of thinking about the future.

Now, the future is here and you're facing the consequences of your actions. Now, your case is like the biblical Esau who sold his birthrights, just to get a morsel of porridge.

You have already sold your vote, so I don't think Mr Ajalekoko, the current governor has anything to offer you again.

Your first child, who is a graduate, is busy sleeping at home and still collecting money from you because there is no job.

Your second child is out of school because of the high increment in school fees and you yourself has not being paid salary for several months now.

You have sold your future and that of your children. So you have no choice than to face the consequences.

*Mr Owonikoko* - (became sober), Mr Jugunu, please stop now! I've had enough of that.

*Moral lesson*

When a politician is busy sharing money just to buy your vote, what is the first thing that will comes to your mind?

Why would a politician be sharing money if he doesn't have any ulterior motive?

Why would service to humanity be a do or die affair?

The Yoruba's will say: *Enu to baje dodo, k'ole so ododo.* meaning if you take bribe, you will not have the moral rights to say the truth.

Prof. Wole Soyinka says :

'WHERE DID WE GO
WRONG?

WAKE UP NIGERIAN YOUTHS!'~~~

"Awolowo was 37 years,
Akintola 36,
Ahmadu Bello 36,
Balewa 34,
Okotie-Eboh 27
and Enahoro 27

And they led the struggle for Nigeria Independence after
the death of Macaulay. Only Zik was 42 at the time!

In 1966, the first military coup was led by K
Nzeogwu who was 29 years

and countered by

M.Mohammed 28,
T. Danjuma 28,
I. Babangida 25,
J. Garba 23,
Sani Abacha 23,
and M. Yar'adua 23,

And brought into power

Y. Gowon 32,
Ojukwu 33,
Obasanjo 29,
And Buhari 24!

Most of the military governors who governed the
states under the successive military regimes were
under 30 years.

Also, the brief democratic dispensation which interjected the military interregnums also saw some
Senators and members of the House of
Representatives, in particular, populated by persons
under 30!

Under 30's were also not in short supply with
appointments - we have examples of

MT Mbu who
became Nigeria's Foreign Affairs Minister at 23

and Pat Utomi who became a Federal Adviser at 27

And so on and so forth!

NOW: Why is it that almost all this age bracket is today still sleeping in 3-seater chairs in their
parents’ homes?

Why is it that this age bracket is today still
collecting pocket money from their parents?

Why is it that this age bracket is today still writing JAMB?

Why is it that this age bracket today still 'sagg' their trousers?

Why is it that this age bracket is today still
searching for jobs and not yet married?

Why is it that this age bracket is today no longer qualified to even be leaders of youth wings of political parties?

Why is it that this age bracket is today so docile?

Why is this age bracket today incapable of feeding itself?

Why is it that this age bracket is today barred from even aspiring to certain political offices?

Why is it that this age bracket is today incapacitated, unwilling, unable and incapable of
asking questions?

GOD BLESS NIGERIA!"

From Prof Wole Soyinka.

This is real Food for Thought!

"HOW TIMES CHANGED"

The famous actor Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Terminator), who later became Governor of the State of California, USA, posted a picture of himself sleeping in the street under his famous bronze statue, and wrote sadly ("How times changed"wink.

The reason he slept there and wrote the sentence was not only odd to many but intriguing. Some thought he was a nut or in the usual joking mood as a famous actor, though rare.

Then a journalist took a bold step to approach him and ask why he was sleeping in the public glare when he could have afford all the comforts inside his home or better still in the hotel.
Do you know what he found out?
Arnold Schwarzenegger told him that he was not a nut neither too old to forget his senses and propriety. He was neither catching his fun, but rather making a statement of life.

He recalled that when he was the Governor of the State of California, he was invited to officially open the massive multimillion dollar hotel where his statue was placed in front of it in his honour.
He noted further that the hotel management publicly declared at the opening ceremony that "at any time you come back, you will meet a room reserved in your name that will be placed at your disposal free of charge."

He said he never came back while in office. However years later he recalled those promises after leaving office and decided to come back and spend a time in the hotel either for free or at paying cost. However what he discovered on arrival is that the hotel administration had refused to give him a room arguing that the hotel was fully booked, even when he was ready to pay. He therefore decided to place a cover under the statue and sleep.

REFLECTIONS
Arnold Schwarzenegger asked the reporter to send this message of reflection as a lesson to those in position of responsibility thus: "When you are in a position, people may be praising you. Don't let it get to your head or your heart. Be yourself and don't get carried away.

Even if they mean to be true and sincere, check yourself that you have not exceeded your limits. Be sure that you are doing what is right and what is good. Don't place any expectation on others and don't look away at your friends and family or make enemies for yourself.

Let your door be open to everyone and open your mind to anyone making a point. They may be your guardian angels. No one knows it all.
Remember that your position is for a while. The people who surround you to seek your favour may even forget you sooner than you can remember. Those who spent time with you are no exception. You may be lonely someday. Even some of the people you helped may eventually loath you.

Remember, what you have to your name is your good works. The legacies that you left in the sands of time. That is what will speak for you. Do not assume that every word spoken to you in office will be kept as a promise in future.

Do not trust your position, name, power, money, fame or intelligence as a magic to open doors in future. Only trust in your good work and legacies because nothing last long in life but death.

Time Will Definitely Change and People Will
Trust No One But The Original Version Of Yourself.

COPIED FROM QUEEN!!!

*Youths are catalysts for national development ―YVAN president*

The National president of Young Visioneers’ Association of Nigeria (YVAN), Mr Ezekiel Oladimeji, has called on Nigerian youths to promote effective leadership, especially during the 2019 elections.

He noted that youths were catalysts for national development and charged them to contribute to the country’s growth and development by sensitising on the need to register and vote during the forthcoming general election.

Oladimeji, who gave these charges in a press statement he issued, signed and made available to the Nigerian Tribune, In Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Sunday, also contained activities marking the annual General Conference of YVAN.

According to the statement, part of activities marking the conference is a young presidential aspirants dialogue, which would hold in Abuja, on Saturday, April 7, and would be preceded by a Voter Card sensitisation rally on Friday, April 6.

”YVAN is also organising Young Presidential Aspirants Dialogue, which will feature 17 young presidential aspirants, among whom are: Daniel Akinla; Nwosu Enyinnaya; Matthias Tsedo; Ahmed Buhari; Eragbe Anslem; Adamu Garbaand Clement Jimbo.

Others are; Victor Ani-Laju; Eniola Ojajuni; Donald Igwegbu; Nicolas Felix; Mrs Godstime Sidney; Ibrahim Lajada; Victor Okhai; Dr Thomas Wilson; Dr Ibrahim Abubakar and Mr Jaye Gaskia,” the statement added.

He said the event was aimed at ensuring, among other things, that Nigerian youths took their rightful place in the society through effective participation in the leadership process.
