Instead of making sure that all our children are enrolled and stay in adequately staffed and properly equipped schools, the federal government is creating an avenue for stealing the little money from teachers.
Anyway, a state branch of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) should drag them to court since primary and secondary schools are constitutionally under the local and state governments.

Misplace of priority.. Stupid and dumb fg...u never count 1 u jump to 2...what has fg been doing concerning our pub schools... Decapitated infrastructure everywhere, many students learning under mango tree.how many pub schools have standard library, laboratory halls, desks, teaching aids, etc..what law have they enforced to achieve standard and conducive learning environments for students? Who tell them say teachers be the problem of Nigeria education.. Know 70% percent of pub(apart from private) school teachers studied education, that makes them professionals, what they need is advance training and seminars from time to time. Instead you seeking ways from loot money from poor teachers, neglecting to tackle the core worries of our education system. Lazy and daft fools wey full for those ministries u never do anything abt them... God punish una..pissed off

www.trcn.gov.ng: How to Apply for Teachers Registration Council
The registration of teachers under the Nigerian teachers registration council (TRCN) has started across the country and many teachers who fail to meet up to the registration process may be bar from entering the classroom across the states in the country beginning from the 2017/2018 Academic session. The procedures can be followed strictly and all the steps have be outline here as you continue to read

The Nigerian Teachers Registration council (TRCN) is a registration guideline which will ensure that all teachers in the country are mandatory by law to register so as to be qualified to teach in all Nigerian schools.
The Nigerian Teachers Registration council (TRCN) is an agency of the Federal Ministry of Education. It was established by the TRCN Degree NO. 31 of 1993 (now TRCN Act CAP T3 of 2004) with major mandate of regulation and control of the teaching profession at all levels of the Nigerian Education Syetem, both in Public and Private sectors.

The Act further states that employers and other officials who aid and abet the employment of unqualified/unregistered teachers are themselves guilty of the same offence and shall receive same punishment.
QUALIFICATION FOR THE REGISTRATION
To be registered as a professional teacher, a person must possess a teaching qualification not lower in standards than the Nigeria certificate in Education (NCE). Bia, what did you just say? A trained teacher? What!!!?And you are even saying it.

This is a classical case of laying more emphasis on paper qualifications than practical performance.

And don't even bother coming up with the lame excuse of not being a graduate of English language.

Teachers, especially trained ones, should be role models to their students. Besides, English language is a subject taught either directly or indirectly by all teachers, not English teachers alone.

I have always liked the idea of allowing only trained teachers teach in schools and not just any graduate. Some people just feel that because they love a subject, they can teach it. That is why you find a lot of teachers in our schools who cannot even organize their lessons because they have not gone through the teacher's training and cannot even write a fairly good lesson note. It is a good idea. We will get there soon.
