I got it through the person below my comment, they smuggled Arabic language at number (x) . What a cheeky bastard the people behind it are. Am not against any religion but of what advantage is Islamic language to a student from Bayelsa, or Edo or Ekiti ? No wonder everyone called Buhari a religious bigot during campaign. Lord lugard may you never rest in peace for this one amalgamation you did for your queen, we share nothing in common !

It said nine out of 10 as minimum, nowhere it said number ten is compulsory.
There argument is that there are no enough French teachers so students will have to study Arabic. But we all know that's a blatant lie! As there are far more French than Arabic teachers, especially in the south.

In a mutually suspicious country like Nigeria where Othman Danfodiyo and his people are trying hard to dip the Quran in the Ocean by Conquest of all cultures, it's incongruous and poignacous to even flirt with Arabic language to Christians communities across the country.

GEJ removed Arabic from our centenary 100 Naira note cos it's offensive to secular Nigeria. Then Buhari and his Jihadists want to now force all our children to stylishly study Quran that would turn them to Shekau and Osama tomorrow. No way...

Hope Nigerians are seeing this with their eyes wide open!

We can now see clearly why CAN had to speak out. Some people just want to retrogress backward and backward into Stone Age era which would have been perfectly fine if they were not dragging the rest of the country along. Nigerians, behold your govt of change! cheesy

When did Nigeria become an Arabic nation that we are adopting their lingua Franca in national exams?!
Arabic is not a religion-neutral language considering the fact that majority of the arabic countries are islamic. Just look at the mess the people who voted this bigot have gotten this country into.

First of all the Arabic you people use to hate has been almost all parts of present day Nigeria except the jungles of the east where your ancestors were barbecuing each other and killing twins.
People were reading and writing in Arabic and Ajami in this present day Nigeria for centuries before the whitemen came to teach you people ABCD.
So because you now learn how to read and write in English we shall throw away our system just to make you happy?
It just kills you that some people actually have something you don't have and it will only make you happy if we lose it and be like you.
Well guess what? There is nothing you can do about it.

The Hausa Fulani embraced Arabic through Islam while the Igbos have been using Nsibidi before Islam came to the North.

Arabic language has no purpose today in Nigeria because there is no neighbouring country that has Arabic as its official language and there is No Arabic Country that's worthy of emulation in all indices

Yup. That rationale must be disclosed.

The rational is to hide under the Guise of teaching Arabic to spread Islam into northern christian minority populations and the middle belt where you will currently find it hard to get a French teacher so students will be forced to study Arabic cleverly embedded with an Islamic malware

Arabic and Islamic studies go hand in hand in Nigeria. You cannot teach Islam without Arabic. Why should Arabic studies be part of the required subject? what relation does secular Nigeria have with Arabic? Why not even Chinese since we trade more with china

Africa has Arabic spoken OFFICIALLY in more than 12 countries and unofficially in more than 2 dozen countries. It is the most spoken Afrosiatic language and only the colonial languages of French and English are more spoken.

The Africa Development Bank does simultaneous interpretation to French, English, Arabic and Portuguese. Of all these languages Arabic and French are more relevant to Nigeria due to the proximity of West Africa to North Africa (where Arabic is widely spoken) and the presence of francophone countries in West Africa.

It might interest many to note that since the 15th century Northern Nigeria (which include parts of the current middle belt) where very literate and authored books on religion, politics and economics before the coming of the colonial powers. They used the AJAMI script - an international Africa writting script used to writing Hausa and Swahili. This script was a derivative of Arabic(and is what is seen on our naira notes and not arabic)

Bottom line is Arabic as a language predates Islam and the existence of Arab and coptic Christians is evidence to this.

Have attended an IRS class to know these lies you are peddling like gala.

Clearly fanaticism from Cownu disciples has reduced them to mere things that can't reason. Students will be allowed to choose French or Arabic. Most school time table hold French and Arabic at the same time. Most school will be unable to offer Arabic because of the scarcity of teachers in that language and most especially Arabic is a language not a religion but I doubt your bigotry can see beyond Cownu poo.

Which means, either French or Arabic is compulsory.

What is the importance of both foreign languages (French or Arabic) when we already have English.
