NEW DELHI: Nokia 9, one of the smartphones that is being rumoured lately, is now said to arrive in 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM variants. The smartphone, according to previous speculations, was said also come in 4GB RAM variant.

The new 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM versions of the unannounced Nokia 9 were reportedly spotted in HMD's letter to the FCC by the Nokiamob website. In the letter, HMD Global has requested FCC to transfer test result permits from the TA-1004 model to TA-1012. The letter is said to explain that the company plans to market the FCC-certified TA-1004 as TA-1012. "The equipment is electrically identical with no change in design, circuitry and construction," says the letter.

According to a recent report by the Nokia Power User, the TA-1012 was spotted on Geekbench smartphone benchmarking website with 6GB RAM. The 8GB RAM version too has been spotted on Geekbench according to the website.

Some of the rumoured features mentioned about the handset are dual-SIM support, 5.3-inch QHD resolution display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB/8GB RAM, 64GB/128GB inbuilt storage, 13MP rear camera, 13MP front-facing camera and IP68 water/dust resistant. The smartphone is also expected to have a physical Home button, along with an embedded fingerprint sensor placed below the display.

HMD has already launched three Nokia-branded smartphones in India, namely Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3. The three smartphones are priced at Rs 14,999, Rs 12,899 and Rs 9,499 respectively.

On the specifications front, the trio offer pure Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS experience and come with Google Assistant built-in. HMD Global has already confirmed the handsets will get Android O later this year or next year. Also mentioned is that the smartphones will be made in India, starting with Nokia 3. We can also expect something same for the Nokia 9 as well.

Nokia 6 is Amazon India exclusive while the other two will be up for grabs via offline retailers.
